Race Analysis
In a rematch of the ultra-competitive 2004 election, Gov. Christine Gregoire comes this year with the advantage of incumbency, as well as the fact that a Republican has not been elected governor here since 1980.
Still, Rossi lost by only 129 votes in \'04, and has four years of the Gregoire administration record to attack. Rossi also has strong fundraising abilities -- enough to keep up with Gregoire.
