Race Analysis
Key State Races: Senate | Governor | OH-1 | OH-2 | OH-15
(October 28) Ohio in many ways could be the state that decides who wins the House of Representatives (maybe not such a good omen for Republicans) the GOP has four vulnerable seats and this is generally considered to be most vulnerable of the lot. Given the state of the Republican party in the Buckeye state, the Blackwell debacle in the Governor’s race, and now with DeWine likely finished as well, it is almost impossible to conceive the GOP not losing House seats in Ohio. Though Deb Pryce’s district is considerably more Democratic than OH-18, scandal makes this the odds on favorite to go first.
(October 21) The Ohio GOP implosion which is evident by simply looking at the Blackwell vs. Strickland governor race coupled with the Bob Ney’s guilty plea in the Abramoff scandal essentially has given this Republican district to the Democrats. Padgett is hanging within 10 points in the polling, which is actually not bad given the circumstances, but this is an uphill climb for her.
