Race Analysis
While Montana is traditionally thought of as solidly red, in truth it is quite competitive at the state level. So it isn't really that surprising that Republican businessman Steve Daines has a competitive race on his hands against state Sen. Kim Gillan. But Daines has led in the polls consistently because the presidential race and federal nature of the office being sought work to his advantage. Gillan hasn't gained traction as of yet, but this race could close at the end.
