One of the biggest upsets of 2010 came in northwestern Illinois, where pizza restaurant owner Bobby Schilling upset Democratic incumbent Phil Hare. Democrats reacted by effectively reorganizing the district during redistricting; it shed some Republican areas and was extended up to the Democratic core of the City of Rockford.
Schilling lost in 2012 to Cheri Bustos by a surprisingly large margin, but is nevertheless back for another bite at the apple. It would take an awfully big wave for him to win in this D+7 district.
